Modularity
The ECL solution is based on a standard modular block (1-2MW) repeated as many times as needed to build larger sites. ECL optimized the single block cost to build and performance that we leverage only scale-out and do not require any scale-up of any data center systems. The modular concept for the ECL solution enables us to build to order and to the customer's needs every one of the blocks creating a private or shared sited with complete block isolation for power, cooling, security, fire suppression, and operations.
Pilot site in Silicon Valley
ECL has created and developed the first ever fully sustainable Data Center that is Off-Grid and 100% powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cell at our Mountain View, CA headquarters. The primary power source is delivered via a Hydrogen Fuel Cell, fed with Hydrogen supply from a tank. Hydrogen is delivered regularly to the facility to keep the tank filled to appropriate levels. For the Pilot, we have used an existing warehouse attached to our HQ. This represents how we would convert an existing structure into an ECLBlock location. This “brownfield” option is also available aside from our greenfield method utilizing 3D printed buildings.
